May 31 – International Day For The Unreached

Greetings, Pastors!

I hope you are all doing well and staying (mostly) sane, by the grace of the Lord! The SDB Missionary Society has a continuing education committee (CEC), and one of its roles is to seek to participate in the education of our churches regarding God’s heart for missions. Along with our CEC, we envision possibilities and opportunities to also share in the equipping of you, our pastors, to do the same.

May 31st is the International Day for the Unreached, a day designated to bring attention to the desperate spiritual need of the 3.19 billion people (41% of the world population) who are living and dying without ever hearing the gospel.

Here are some ways that your congregation may be challenged to grow in their knowledge and heart for unreached peoples:

1. Include this video in your online service or post it on your social media/include it in a church email to raise awareness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIDraNUGerE

2. Challenge your congregation to download the Joshua Project app on their phone (or look up the website) and pray for the people group of the day every day for a month (or longer).

3. Invite your congregation to sign up for the free live webcast hosted by Alliance for the Unreached which will consist of speakers from around the world. This takes place May 31st. Here is the link: https://alliancefortheunreached.org/

4. Take some time in your Sabbath worship service on May 30 to call attention to one or more of the three previous suggestions.

Thank you for all that you do and for partnering with us in bringing awareness to unreached peoples!

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Samuels
Chief Executive Director
