Conor Green, from the Milton, Wisconsin SDB church, has begun his Dedicated Service work for the Lost Creek SDB Church in Lost Creek, WV.
Upon his arrival on June 18th, he jumped right in Vacation Bible School helping with the primary/toddler groups quite a bit. From there he worked at the Appalachian Association meetings at Camp Joy, leading a children’s Sabbath School class, helping with recreation activities, and being available for other tasks as necessary. This week he is serving on staff with Susie Fox at Junior/Middler Camp and next week he will be serving as a peer counselor during Senior Camp, leading evening devotions with the campers as well as setting the mark for behavior and participation in camp activities.
His summer of service will conclude with two weeks of service in the Lost Creek church – his responsibilities will include organizing the church library, painting, accompanying Pastor Johnmark on visitations, and helping to lead children’s activities. In addition to all of these things, Conor is working through a leadership training/development program, studying Lead Like Jesus by Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges, Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper, Victory over the Darkness by Neil Anderson, and the book of Nehemiah in addition to journaling assignments and discussion times with Pastor Johnmark. His summer will conclude by attending both Young Adult PreCon and Conference in Lancaster, PA.
We in the Lost Creek SDB Church are excited to have Conor Green with us, appreciative of the Memorial Fund for supporting this project, and grateful to Jane Macintosh and the Women’s Board for giving this project their stamp of approval.
