Introducing the 2017-18 Scripture Memory Program!

Each year, the Christian Education Council sponsors a program meant to encourage Seventh Day Baptists to memorize God’s word:  our Scripture Memory Program.  Each year, the program is focused towards our Conference theme, and meant to help us engage both the Conference theme and the Scriptures together.

We are happy to announce that this year’s program, based on our Conference theme of “Less Talk, More Action,” is ready to be used by your local church!  Information has been mailed by USPS to local congregations which should arrive later this week or early next week with sample brochures for this year’s program.  In addition, the program brochures can also be downloaded from the Conference webpage at: www.seventhdaybaptist.org/scripturememory.  As has been the case in recent years, churches are given permission to begin the program in either September or October.  There is enough time to complete the 9-months of the program with either start date.

Individuals who complete the program are eligible to receive a certificate recognizing their achievement, and local churches who have participants are eligible to receive additional recognition if their congregational participation is exceptional.   Reporting for this year’s program will be due in early July 2018.

Along with the mailing for the coming year’s program, churches who had participants in last year’s program (2016-17) will find certificates for their participants.  We hope churches will celebrate those who have completed the program and made memorizing Scripture a priority in their daily lives.

Individuals with questions about the program are encouraged to contact the Christian Education Council after they have consulted with the page on the Conference’s website about the program.  Happy memorizing!
