Developing and supporting leaders

The focus of the SDB General Conference is in developing and supporting new and existing leaders who will work through healthy local churches.

Who are leaders?

The Bible teaches that leaders… 

...are themselves devoted followers of Jesus Christ who provide an example to others.

 …are so because of their service more than their gifts.

…are qualified by character and not their abilities.

 …seek health for themselves and others in all areas of life.

 …give and receive discipline inside the body of believers in love.

Character is more important than competence in Christian leaders.  For this reason, everyone can aspire to be a leader, and as a believer grows in Christ, they should aspire to be a leader, even if their style of leadership is not to stand in front of everyone.  Every believer empowered by the Holy Spirit can be a powerful Christian leader. 

Developing such leaders in every area of Christian service is the aim of our Conference.  To achieve this goal, we provide leadership training opportunities as a Conference of churches in specific ministry areas, and encourage and support opportunities in local congregations, both in organic processes and in specific events.  Kingdom advance requires trained leaders.  Is God calling you to take the next step in Christian leadership?  We would love to hear about what God is doing in your life.  Contact us and let us know how we can help with your next bold step of faith!
